Hi there! My name is Prathik Ravel. I am a graduate of Northeastern University with a BS Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Biomechanics. I am passionate about solving real world problems with product design inspired by the natural world, especially pertaining to healthcare, automation, and manufacturing.
My journey in engineering started in middle school with my involvement in FIRST robotics both in FIRST LEGO League and the FIRST Robotics Competition where I learned to solve complex engineering design challenges in a tight timeline, and lead a team of peers to a successful end product.
Upon coming to Northeastern I applied the skills I learned in FIRST to the Generate. I learned about the product development process, and the intersection between engineering and entrepreneurship by building real products for real clients. After becoming a Project Lead there I learned I have a passion for interfacing the needs of the client or user to the overall development of the product, and governing the high level direction of a design based on user needs.
As a result I would like to pursue a career in product management. I believe my knowledge and experience with the technical aspect of hardware development, combined with my passion of designing the optimal version of a product for the user allows me to be an asset in the field of product development
Aside from building products I enjoy cooking, running, sports, and graphic design! In my spare time I love experimenting with new recipes, trying to design and build unique furniture, and obsessing over Formula 1 racing or football.
